Set up EDI in the N4 client

You use the UN/EDIFACT BAPLIE Outbound stowplan message to convey outbound vessel information to a down-line terminal operator and vessel operator. This message is used to inform the terminal operator about what containers are shipped out of the terminal via vessel. You typically send this after you have completed planning and loading the containers to the vessel, when the vessel is about to leave the terminal.

The UN/EDIFACT BAPLIE Outbound stowplan message sends the following types of information about the vessel:

N4 serves a built-in map for converting the Navis standard stowplan .xml file to the UN/EDIFACT BAPLIE Outbound stowplan EDI message standard using the Navis standard schema file: stowplan.xsd

You use the N4 client for all setup tasks for vessel EDI messages, including configuring the message type and message map, creating an outbound stowplan mailbox, and creating an outbound STOWPLAN session. Search in the Help module of the N4 client on Outbound STOWPLAN EDI processes for form-based instructions on how to do the setup. Or refer to the instructions below.

Tasks required to configure N4 for an outbound stowplan:

  1. Configure the message type (on page 1) and message map (on page 1).

These tasks are only required for customized messages that are not built in.
